Scott's painting Prayer Flags, Telluride (top right) won the top prize at Telluride's 4th annual plein air competition. Awards at the event are all selected by "artists choice" in which the 30 participating artists vote on their favorite paintings. Terry Masters won second place and Randall Sexton won third.

The awards celebration and silent auction, benefiting Telluride's Sheridan Arts Foundation, was followed by a two-day sale. Scott had painted twelve paintings during the competition—and sold out in the first four hours of the sale!
